Kaylyn was born and raised in Hagersville, Ontario. Her love for this rural environment and for Canadian landscape has lead her to convey this emotion through art. Kaylyn received her undergraduate degree from McMaster University for Studio Art and Art History in 2013 and hopes to further artistic education in the future. Before attending university Kaylyn’s main medium was painting with acrylics. However, she has found a new passion in welding; where metal has become her new canvas. Kaylyn has begun showing her work in Hamilton and surrounding areas throughout the past year. Her most current exhibits were located at The McMaster Museum of art for her graduating art show, the Members Show at the Artist Inc in Hamilton, Ontario, and The Desmond Juried Art exhibition and sale in Ridge town, Ontario. She is currently working as a Fitter for a Fabrication company, Walters Group Inc., where she is finding a career in working with metal. She hopes that the skills and process she uses daily will inspire her to complete new projects and will influence her artistic practice and her appreciation for the material.

Paintings
My Paintings are usually inspired by places and things that I am very familiar with and have grown up with. These include my cottage, my hometown and fast pitch. In a lot of my paintings I find that I love to play with colour in order to enhance my experience with the painting and hope that the viewer will have the same reaction towards it.
